New Tiled bathroom 1 Tile 2

I wish I had a before picture. When we moved into our new house, the master-bedroom bathroom was carpeted. I don’t quite understand why and how carpeted bathrooms became an interior-design option, but it was high on our priority list to replace. With the help of my dad, we tore out the carpet and installed new ceramic tile.

It took us about two full days (and I’m sure it will take me another half day to do some final touch-ups). But the result is no more carpet and beautiful tiles. I’m actually pretty impressed with myself. A week ago I didn’t know what a wonderboard was, nor a thinset nor how to cut a tile.

We saved about a thousand dollars doing it ourselves, but the greater benefits were: learning how to tile (home project) and bonding with dad.

So if anyone out there wants to get their floors redone… give me a couple months for my back to rest…

Awesome, Eddy! Great job. It looks awesome, you gained some skills, bonded with your dad, and added value to your home. Not bad for a couple days’ work.

Eddy, we just moved into a new place with the same carpet-in-the-bathroom problem. I may hit you up when we get ready to change it next year. Hopefully your back will be recovered by then!
