    My first $0.50

    Comments (2)

I wouldn’t quite call it a side business. For birthday and Christmas, my family (immediate and extended) got me the Canon Rebel Xti. Photography has been a hobby of mine for years, but when I got to college, I could no longer afford film and developing costs, and any access to darkrooms. In the past year, Rhoda has been encouraging me to take up this hobby again (which is why she orchestrated this great gift). I’ve been shooting around for the past couple of months and uploading my shots both to this site (in lower quality) and to an amateur/professional photography site (Dreamstime).

Today, someone downloaded one of my pictures and my account got credited $0.50. Now this is hardly the supplemental income (and I have to wait until it gets to $100 before I can actually get the money), but it is encouraging that there is someone out there who liked it enough to download it!
