Thank God for the coalition
Comments (none) Published September 17th, 2007 under In The NewsIn last week’s address, President Bush cited and thanked the 36 countries that make-up the coalition fighting the global war on terror in Iraq. President Bush is right—it is a coalition. However, it’s close to about 21 or 22 countries, with the vast majority of troops donated by the United States. Actually, we have about 150,000 more troops there than the United Kingdom which has the second largest presence in Iraq. (The US surge alone was three times larger than the British troops)
President Bush and I are not the only ones thankful that there is a coalition of forces. Just today, Navy Adm. Timothy J. Keating stopped by the 17-island archipelago of Tongo to thank them for participating in the global war of terror. (The entire defense forces of Tongo is 450 people, of which 55 were deployed to essentially be security guards in Baghdad)
I am very glad we Americans are not in the global war on terror alone!
